About Me
Now based in Brisbane for more than a year, I moved back to the city after 4 years of living off the grid in the lush sunshine coast hinterland. City life is going ok, though I'm mainly working on finding ways to live out of the city in the near future and still keep doing all the work and travel I like to. Until then, Babble On.
I still get to spend a lot of time floating up and down the east coast of australia for parties and festivals - sunshine coast, northern nsw, melbourne and cairns are all 2nd homes to me and i wish i had longer time to spend there.... Big ups to all the crews up and down the east coast!
My time mainly gets taken up by web programming work, lecturing multimedia at CQU and Intech in Brisbane, djing at bush parties and the occasional indoor gig, organising outdoor music/landcare gatherings through subterran and doing computer based visual art and photography.2008 sees a change of pace for me on a few levels. I'm taking this year off organising any outdoor parties and turning focus solely to Earth Freq 2009. I'm more focused on work and other projects, besides the normal stuff i'm now writing a course for CQU on flash games/application development for mobile phones, and working on the compilation for open records. Exciting! Besdes that i'm trying to find the time to get back in to music production (though i say that every year, but i really mean it this time, honest.)

Bio:::
Paul Abad is a dj, producer, promoter, visual artist and community activator based in south east queensland. He has been part of the local music scene since 1998 and is now a regular on the east coast circuit. The width of his experience sees him play everything from outdoor festivals to experimental/sound art gigs to warehouse breaks/glitch nights.
After years of exploring a variety of electronic genres, Paul has now positioned himself as one of the leading exponents of minimal/progressive techno and hi-fi breaks in the outdoor festival scene in Australia. His obsession with futuristic sonics and dedicated outdoor sensibilities still shine through in how he works with these genres, in track selection and overall feel, and he has a unique ability to tailor sets to a specific time and place. Tool of choice these days is laptop with Ableton live and a 32 knob controller, ensuring a seamless and creative approach to mixing. Flow, groove, space and progression are key themes in paul's sets, but of primary importance is the mix - recombining and layering, and responding to an audience
2007 saw Paul join Cairns label Open Records team. In 2008 Paul is teaming up with label mate Solatek to compile a progressive techno release, with a planned release date of the 08/09 summer festival season.
Paul has played mainstage sets for qld earthcore, cairns winter solstice, exodus, earthfreq, melbourne winter solstice, regrowth, super freak, nimbin mardi-grass doof and submerge, aswell as the rainbow serpent festival market stage sunday afternoon session, akasha market stage, woodford folk festival, mind over matter, liquid architecture, west end festival, this is not art and many more.
He has played alongside acts such as Future Sound of London/Amorphous Androgynous, Tipper, Dj Krush, Monolake, Richard Devine, Adam Beyer, Jeremy P Caulfield, Phoenecia, Bernd Friedman, Antix, Perfect Stranger, Tegma, Phoney Orphants, Luna Spice, Bufo, Krumeler, Kazu Kimura, Thomas Brinkman, Aes Dana, Talpa, Haltya, Artax, Sun Control Species, Sensient, Spoonbill, MZO etc.
After having been involved in staging outdoor music events since 2001, 2005 saw Paul launch Subterran, an events org focused on outdoor enviro/electronic music events. Subterran has a solid list of events under its belt now and more to come. Subterran is also one of the key instigators of the annual Earth Freq Festival.

Sometimes i see myself as everything.
I call that love.
Sometimes i see myself as nothing.
I call that wisdom.
Between love and wisdom my life flows.

Reality is what comes next after now, not in time, but as a manifestation of the directed flow of conscious energy which we are.

Everything that you learn about the world tells you how your brain works also, enabling you to perceive yourself in that which you consider not you. A thorough understanding of this procedure will enable you to change the world by changing yourself.
