The Christmas Chaos Radio Show originally began in 1985 as an offshoot of the FM Chaos show (later known as Transmission) on WLFR, 91.7 FM, Stockton State College (now known as The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey), hosted by Bob Portella (now known as Sir Robert Portella).There were Christmas Chaos broadcasts in 1985, 1986,1987,1991,1992,1993,1994,1996,1997(largest broadcast ever--almost 24 hours of material!),1999,2002,2003,2004(internet only-a first!)2005 and 2006...new tracks are accumulated constantly for future Christmas Chaos programs with the new improved digital capabilities we have here at Christmas Chaos world headquarters...The Show is thematic about the Christmas holiday, but there is also a wintery/snowy feel to it,and in the past there has also been a segment called "Hanukkah Rocks" after the song by Gefilte Joe and the Fish...Also, I've always felt that some of the best holiday tracks are original tunes, not just worn-out carols...Some of my favorite songs on the show may not even be ABOUT Christmas , but maybe just a passing reference in a lyric, or not, such as "Cheree" by Suicide, which is just divine...Every Christmas Chaos show is both a failure AND a success: a failure because something ALWAYS tends to go wrong--miscues, dead air, skipping records and CDs...but ultimately a success because of all the great music and songs and artists that have recorded the music that I play. Myspace gives me the opportunity to communicate with a lot of people whose music is featured here, and hopefully, listeners as well. The "Christmas Chaos" concept is not exclusive to this program.There are quite a few poems and essays out there on the net, there is a wrestling extravaganza founded by Mick Foley called Christmas Chaos, there are some video games, and there's even an independent film called "Christmas Chaos"....Penguin books from the UK has a cool little online game called "Christmas Chaos" on their website, and a couple of years ago, Warner Bros. records even put out a promo Xmas comp. called Christmas Chaos (how DARE they!!! They didn't even send me a copy!!!) But this is the ONLY holiday radio show called "Christmas Chaos", and it's the WORST! I mean BEST!
