'''''''''' SHORT BIO OF ECHO ORBITER ''''''''''
ECHO ORBITER formed in a small town in Southern New Jersey, not too far from Philadelphia, when brothers Justin Emerle and Colin Emerle began to flesh out some of their songs. Meanwhile, the band began to perform extensively in Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and NYC while perfecting their unique sound. Working closely with the Philadelphia indie community (Performing with bands such as the INTERPRETERS, the THREE-4-TENS, LILYS, and the BURNING BRIDES), Echo Orbiter began to gain momentum.
A Moment In Life That's Right, Echo Orbiter's first full-length release, received local acclaim along with their headline performance at the PHILADELPHIA POP FESTIVAL, their appearance on ISpy Records' Legion Of Boom Vol. 1 compilation, and a featured article in SPIN magazine, helping Echo Orbiter reach new audiences along the coast. Simultaneously, Echo Orbiter began to perform with artists such as BEULAH, OF MONTREAL and APPLES IN STEREO.
Their second full-length release, Laughing All the While, was recorded by producer BRIAN MCTEAR at MINER STREET Recordings in Philadelphia with production help from KURT HEASLEY of the LILYS. Along with Laughing All the While, Echo Orbiter saw the start of the LOOKING GLASS WORKSHOP, a small indie label owned and operated by Justin Emerle, as well as the name of a collective of eclectic Philadelphia musicians, artists, writers, poets, and film-makers.
Currently, Echo Orbiter is no longer performing live, focusing solely on recording and internet media. The Echo Orbiter's sound has become uniquely its own.
Former members include: Bryan Michael (ALKA) (keyboards on second album), B.C. CAMPLIGHT (live keyboards), and Kyle Costill (TROUBLE EVERYDAY and MANIC MIRRORS) (live keyboards). Justin is a former member of the THREE-4-TENS (guitar).
