"A Human and His Stds"
WHAT A BREAKING HEART, SOOTHED BY ACID, IN AN EMPTY CITY Sounds Like...
Formed in 2005, the band played for 6 months before being picked up by Back Door Records. Their first album from Back Door Records, "Punk Rock Ballads for the Ugly and Unloved" (Released 2005 - and recorded on April Fools Day), included such hits as... "Pour Me", "The Devil Went Down to Santa Maria", and "Punker Bob". Songs have been featured on numerous radio stations, like S.L.O.'s "107.3 "The Rock", and Huntington Beach's "Forbidden Radio". And various T.V. shows, such as Santa Maria's own "Adam bomb Show", and "Poison Apple T.V.". All but one of the songs are available as Music Videos on "Punk Rock Ballads... - The Music Videos" (Released 2006).
The yet-to-be-released "The Love Machine" (recorded Valentines Day Weekend 2007), included 16 incredible songs inspired by the pain, and happiness of life. Expect it early 2008. Along with various compilations released with great bands like, "Against Me", "Against All Authority", "Public Defecation", "Strike Anywhere", and "The Casualties"; "A Human and His Stds" has opened for other great bands such as; The Misfits, TSOL, TOTAL CHAOS, Agent Orange, D.I., The Briefs, and many more! The band influences vary greatly from old skool Punk (I.E. Conflict, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat) to Classical (I.E. Beethoven, Shubert) to obscure bands (I.E. Marz Volta, Black Heart Procession, Sigur Ros), although their music reflects a completly unique project, leaning away from conventional punk, and more towards an "Evolved-POST-PUNK" sound. They have worked very hard to be a postive influential force, and have made every gig possible a charity event. A Human and His Stds supports such charities as: R.A.I.N.N., Peta2, The Salvation Army, Greenpeace, Food Not Bombs, The Pirate Bay, local, national, sexual abuse victim support, subverts, and homeless charities include some of the causes the band has fought for. If kids bring in cans of food to a show, they drop money off the entrance fee, and all food is donated.
"A Human and His Stds" has been a band since 2005, and was started by singer/song writer, "A Human". Others recuited were; "Princess Crabs" as the origional drummer, and "Tricho." on bass. "St. Clap" drummed until "The Love Machine" was recorded, but has since left to pursue greater things, we wish all of them the best of luck!
The Crew standing today are as follows:
A Human : Vocals/ Guitar, J.J.Rod : Drums / Backup Vocals, and El Hepitisto : Bass / Backup Vocals.
What started as an Old Skool Punk project, is now a POST-PIRATE-PUNK experience. When you want it, when you need it: fast and slow / sweet and angry / charged and new / fierce and hungry / YOU CALL A HUMAN AND HIS STDS. Despite the difficulties a trio can face as a band, Backdoor Records is proud to have them on the roster, and of their incredible sound and vision!
