The Skarabeez

The Skarabeez were founded in the year 2002. Influenced by The Skatalites, Laurel Aitken and many more giants from the golden era, they like to mix things up. Whether it's up-tempo ska, reggae or just good old authentic ska, The Skarabeez give you a beat that knocks you right off your feet!
From the early beginning they kept on developing as a band and after playing over 50 gigs, they more and more fell in love with the authentic way and sound of playing ska, reggae and rock-steady.
In 2003 The Skarabeez recorded their debut EP "Skank 'Till Your Face Falls Off!". After playing gigs in Holland, Belgium and Germany for two years, they recorded the EP "Is This What It's All About?" in May 2006. With that EP the 'grown-up' sound of the Skarabeez was born.
The Skarabeez are proud to say they have played with a lot of great bands like: The Selecter, Rude Rich and the Highnotes, Mark Foggo's Skasters, the J-stars and many more. They participated in various Ska-Nights with bands such as Wisehead and Sideshift Harry and are currently planning several small tours in Holland and Germany.
With a mix of ska and reggae combined with catchy 'sing-a-longs', The Skarabeez bring new life to the authentic ska sound!
