About Me
Ska, Punk, Reggae and Dub Music from Nuremberg, Germany.
Style:
As there is not one single musical mastermind in the band who writes the songs, there is a wide scope of influences brought into DEA by all of these musical enthusiasts ranging from ska and reggae roots as well as contemporary styles to a whole serious of rock, blues and punk rock varieties, all mixed up with some hip hop and dub flavour.
Bands to be mentioned being of major importance are among many others Sublime, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Lagwagon, Bob Marley, The Slackers, NOFX,...
History:
The DEA Experience was founded in 1999 by Flo (drums), Wullo (guitar), Gerhard (vocals), Georg (Bass), Christian (Trumpet), Hase (Sax) and Timo (MC). As early as before the first gig, Timo, the guy who provided the first band room, left the band. Until rejoining the Band he would still be supporting the DEA crew providing his famous artwork for posters, shirts and stuff. After several shows, a new member was introduced to the band: Georg Kobras on the Trombone completed the brass section. But unfortunately, he left the band again after a couple of gigs. Some further line-up rearrangements took place, all being undone after some time before 2002. This was the year when DEA’s face was to change profoundly again. Flo had to quit playing the drums due to physical problems -he started playing the guitar- and was replaced by Bastards-drummer Peter Müller. In the same year, the DEA crew was happy to welcome back founding member Timo on the toasting mic. In 2006, Flo finally left the band for some harder stuff with his new band, the divorced, now Praena – still we are happy to welcome him back on stage for guest appearances as happened last December in the Gruener Baum.
In the course of the years, the DEA Experience has played numerous gigs in and around Nuremberg alongside many bands, including Panteon Rococo, La Vela Puerca, Streetlight Manifesto, The Gauwailers,...
In 2007, DEA is planning to play as many shows as possible and finally to record their first studio album.
