History
1960s: NACLA is an integral part of the student movements confronting the systems of power around them
1970s: NACLA is there as the coup in Chile unfolds, and brings information about its aftermath back to activists in the U.S.
“If you want to understand what’s happening in Chile today, just read New Chile by NACLA†– Salvadore Allende, shortly before the coup in 1973
1980s: NACLA brings activists to Central America to uncover the truth about the U.S.-backed wars there, and brings those truths home to support the solidarity movement
1990s: NACLA lead the left with analyses of structural adjustment and corporate globalization
Today: NACLA continues to be a vital resource for those fighting for justice in our hemisphere and around the world, and an important partner in the Latin America Solidarity, Immigrant Rights, and Global Justice movements with our new website: nacla.org
