I'm a avid old-time fiddler, that loves a good hoedown, waltz, reel or hornpipe. I've been playing about 9 years, and like to stay true to the old time style of fiddling. This is a home-made video series teaching how to play Old-Time Fiddle the way all the old-timers learned…………..by ear. Tunes are taught presenting a “live” version, giving the viewer examples of how the tunes sound “up to speed”, then broken down phrase by phrase, giving the notes, and the bowing. This series teaches a wide variety of breakdowns, waltzes, reels, hornpipes, jigs, etc…
Volume One: Learning The Basics covers topics such as: choice of instruments; strings; positioning; how to learn tunes by ear; practice methods/exercises; playing in different tunings, methods of phrasing, jamming tips; bowing techniques, and more. This is perfect for the first time beginner, or the accomplished player just looking for a source of new tunes/material.
