"ABOUT THE HOT STRINGS"
Some don't believe us when we say that we've been a band for almost 12 years now. That's only because they don't normally fathom 8-11 year olds starting their own band. We've come a long way from playing for tips at the bus stops during the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. It's been a long road, but only the strong survive in the music industry.
Yes, it's true; we've won a few really cool awards, individually, and as a band, but that's our past and we're more focused on our future. Currently, we're trying to become a strong influence in "the biz". We're also trying to develop a good foundation outside of Southern Colorado.
Lately, people don't know what to think of our sound or how to categorize it, because we're trying to be new. We have fresh ideas and we want to contribute them to the great big world of music. We're taking acoustic to a whole new level and we want everybody that we can find to join us on our little rollercoaster ride. Some might think were a bunch of hippies, and that's ok too, but let me say this, "We arent the norm and we will never be." We dont want to play mediocre, generic, mass produced, cookie-cutter sounding music, and we will strive to always be original and "cutting edge." We are an acoustic revolution! So sit back, and prepare to be taken to a new level in music-namely, our music.______________________________________________________ ___________
About the "Uncharted" CD
"Uncharted", was first released in April of 2005, we are re-releasing it in the summer of 2006. This project was produced by Patt Flynn, one of our musical heroes and former member of the Newgrass supergroup "Newgrass Revival." The album was recorded in Nashville at Monkey Finger Studio by Engineers Brent Truitt (Dixie Chicks), and Tim Roberts.
Recently we just received this great review in the highlighted section of the May 2006 edition of Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine ( Read it now! ).
We were honored to read that we, Hot Strings, were considered "one of the best things to come along in a decade," and that "Uncharted" is considered to be "an exceptional album in a field that tends to attract plenty of players whose desires outpace their abilities."
We are passionate about spreading our new music on the "Uncharted" CD to acoustic music lovers everywhere. We are appreciative of you, our dedicated fans, for all of your continuing support of our music and we have devised a way to say thanks to you and help spread the music! For every friend you get to buy the "Uncharted" album, we will give you $5! Just shoot us an e-mail letting us know who you turned on to the music. It's our way of saying thanks for your continiung support and for helping fuel the fire for the acoustic revolution. ____________________________________________________________ _____
