I live in the beautiful foothills of NC, an area rich in music, wildlife, funny sayings, homemade liquor, cows, simple ways, tractors, kind neighbors, hound dogs, hunters and farmers. I like it here where I can see the stars and hear the birds, frogs, crickets and coyotes. I'm lucky to have a great husband, many fine friends that I cherish, an old farmhouse with lots of land to roam, and a goofy bird dog. I make music as often as I can. I teach music at an after school program,check out www.juniorapplachianmusicians.org I try to be giving and caring and send out positive vibes. Life is good, go live it! We need more of this. My Interests

I try to practice the 3 R's- reduce, reuse and recycle. I like old country people, they have the best stories. Environmental protection and conservation. Horseback riding, communing with nature, goodwill stores, candlelight, turtles, weird movies, skinny dippin, makin music, wildflowers, pottery, spreadin the love, gardening, bird dogs, herbs, apple brandy, handmade stuff, organic food especially coffee, antique junk, walks in the woods, really good dark chocolate, overalls, mountain streams, old quilts, bonfires, birdsong, dancin. I hate plastic and 'economic development'. Thomas Maupin, one of my dancing heroes. this dude can rock it. A stunning Andalusian stallion doing a show at liberty. Horses are amazingly beautiful creatures.

Thoreau and Earl Johnsonand these guys who still play the banjo ancestor. Respect.

Music:

good danceable Old time music, its the real deal, as real and old as dirt-- OLD country music, authentic cajun, good greasy blues -- traditional celtic, no drums please-- anything with any real feeling which pretty much excludes most of what you hear on the radioFEATURED OT MUSICIANER: Tommy Jarrell.. width="425" height="350" ....This is my crazy friend Jim Miller with his wacky invention. He is an awesome musician and super cool dude... width="425" height="350" .... I'm a secret dulcimer player, and David Schnaufer was and will always be the god of delcimore. His band kicks ass with a mix of hillbilly and 80's punk. RIP brother. Books:

anything by Carl Hiaasen, Edward Abbey, Stephen King is good. Read Aldo Leopold he has all the right ideas. I've been reading crazy funny fiction by Christopher Moore, he's hilarious.

Heroes:

no one in particular, but I admire anyone who is genuine and sincere and gives a damn about the planet and its denizens
