Will Martina

Will Martina was born in Australia - studied in Oz, London, and the Banff Center for the Arts - and has lived in New York since early 2006. Since being here he has performed on stage and in the studio with/for artists such as Dave Liebman, Ed Schuller, Josh Roseman, Beyonce Knowles, Idan Raichel, MuthaWit, Kyp Malone, Burnt Sugar, JT Lewis, Brandon Ross, and many others inside both New York's shiniest and grimiest venues. He is a member of the New York-based band The Shivers (and is both a fan and a friend of all it's members), and works closely with the great Senegalese singer Pape Armand Boye. Over the years he has also performed with many other bands and individuals (some well-known, some not) across four continents. Will has collaborated with the artist Janet Biggs (www.jbiggs.com), composing and performing the scores for a number of works which were successfully exhibited in Barcelona and Miami during 2007. He is also honored to have had the opportunity to work and perform with Bassam Saba and the recently formed New York Arabic Orchestra. Will is a Schertler Artist.
