About Me

'Eleanor Rigby' - Live @ le Baron (Paris)

Two roads diverged in a wood and I--
I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

- Robert Frost

Also, I don't often (ever, really) send friend requests; that's my label doin' the dirty deed. When I get a moment to myself - an' am in close proximity to a decent internet cafe, I like to read the notes you send an' respond accordingly. I also like to change my headline, (I think about good quotes I could use all day long actually) an' switch up my "Sounds Like" video from time to time, usually placing something there that has no fucking relation to what it is that I do an' that I just simply find worthy of viewing for hilarious reasons. Inside joke type shit, really.

My Interests

Micheal Riddleberger drums

The Free Design "Sing for Very Important People" is giving my ears a five course meal. It features the talents of three siblings who come from an intense musical background, (their father, a jazz trumpeter, their mother, a music teacher an' the middle sibling studied vocal music throughout college), it goes from beautiful choral arrangements, (Love You) to psychedelic jazz ditties (Bubbles), every turn a total, complete, mind fuck.

I've Been revisiting Elvis Costello and the Attractions' "Get Happy!!" an' am happy to say that it's still the fucking bomb.

My buddy, CJ convined me to give Cat Power's latest release, "Jukebox" a-go, an', I dig it; more for the mood than innovation. It opens with her cover of "New York", which, at first listen, I found a bit lazy as anyone can make a groove an' put lyrics over it an' exclaim, "It's a cover!", but while walking New York's streets it's a perfect auditory depiction of the unattainable town.

The Rolling Stones' "Tattoo You" touches my very core. Unshakeable love for that record.

Radiohead's, "In Rainbows" is their best release in quite sometime. Feels like "OK Computer" hooked up with "Kid A" an' made sweet, passionate..music..

Joan As Policewoman is kicking my fucking ass so hard that if I didn't have one before, I sure as hell don't have one now.

A friend mentioned sometime ago to give a listen to Grizzly Bear since I love Feist so much, so I did. 'Groovy' I thought, an' didn't pick it up again. On a music buying spree I finally picked up "Yellow House". Sounds like the Beach Boys headin' to the methadone clinic. I don't know if that's good or bad.

I like it though.

I played Ferraby Lionheart's self titled ep so much that it's potency began to wane on me. So we broke up. We're seeing each other again - not as often so as to maintain the fire - but with new eyes and ears. I don't think I could've written "Climbing Out" without his influence.

You need Mathieu Boogaerts. Here is what you need: "Michel", "Super" and "Jen ai marre detre deux".

My buddy, Wylie, hipped me to Miriam Makeba sometime ago. What a wonderful friend she's become. I'm always a little happier whenever she's around. I have "Mama Africa", which spans her career from her collaboration with the Manhattan Brothers and the Skylarks to her more recognized solo efforts. 'Somethin' beautiful.

Two amazing words: Mercedes Sosa. "Gracias A la Vida", live, bends my knees. "30 Anos" is a must-have as well.

What are YOU listening to? Drop me a note or a comment if you'd like and hip me to what's driving you.

Abrazos, KW

Sounds Like: nothing even remotely resembling Tracy Chapman or Lauryn Hill.

My Blog

By Curve’s standards, I’m pretty fuckin’ hot.

Behind every Krystle is a good Faculty.

Profile name change because I was told it would make things less confusing. I figure it won't change much. People will still ask if  it's a solo thing, or a band...which, y'know..hey."Circles" is...

You cant take a picture if its already gone.

The whole day was dream like; foggy. Retracing steps from a wine stained stuper. First there would be a photo shoot, which I would be late for, but then, everyone else always is, so, no skin off my no...

Its the getting there.

Left Paris at two twenty-five p.m. Sunday, after missing the twelve twenty-six train that I knew I would never make because the night before I was out with Hugh, an' if ever you thought I was bad ass,...

Honey, I love you, but gimme Park Avenue.

Or really, anything that's in America - except rednecks, chitlins an' skunk weed. Heading out in nine days, landing back out west an' getting drunk as pirates with my west coast posse, (we kill pigeon...

Genuine is accidental, loves coincidental, whiskeys trancedental.

As Bowie, (dear, sweet, freakish Bowie) once sang: "Man, I hope that I'm crazy."In this town, amidst these cobble stone streets, head alive in whimsy an' miskept secrets, I'm a suffering romantic, all...

Fairly productive, aren’t we?

I've made a set list! Isn't that novel?! Very excited about playing alongside Hugh Coltman this evening, as I might contend as being his biggest fan. While writing it up I thought about what tunes wou...
