About Me

Jessie Torrisi played drums in a dozen New York City bands (Unisex Salon, Laptop, The Fleurs Tragiques, the C.U.N.T. Rock Revolution) before recording this, her debut album.

The album title, bruler bruler (pronounced broo-lay broo-lay), means .. burn burn.. in French. Her songs are about have-to-have-it passion... a predilection she caught while living for short stints in New Orleans, Brazil, and Cameroun.

Her low bluesy voice and sly seduction songs are like riding down a highway as the sun's going down. Sipping whiskey while winking at a stranger in a crowded bar. ***

Heartbreak is out. Danger is in.Imagine the love child of Otis Redding, Bessie Smith & Lucinda Williams. Then triple that. ***
