Influences: Here's a few things I can't stop listening to. --------------------- Caetano Veloso, Ce: Caetano's latest is so ridiculously good. Just went to see him in New York and fell in love with this material. Great band, great songs, and also the dryest record I've ever heard by far, which is sweet.-----------------------John Legend, Once Again: Seriously, It's awesome. The song "Show Me" is a Raphael Saadiq masterpiece (he wrote it, also check out his record called Instant Vintage. It's pretty amazing.)--------------------------Brad Mehldau Trio, Day is Done: Brad Mehldau is one of those few artists that I love so much that I buy pretty much everything he puts out. Day is Done struck a particularlly resonant chord with me. His Covers of "Martha My Dear" and Radiohead's "Knives Out" are unreal.-------------------------------DJ Jazzy Jeff, Return of the Magnificent: Mr. Owen Biddle (look in the Band Members section) hipped me to this record. It's not a game. We're talking bout PRACTICE.-----------------------------The Band, Jericho: I've been on a huge band kick lately. This is actually a 90's record that was made sans Robbie Robertson. Key tracks: "Jericho", "Blind Willie McTell" and their cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Atlantic City." Levon kills it.
