New York's Famous Taste Maker

About Me

I wear many hats, as one must in the music biz these days:
writer/photographer/producer/promoter/
booking/artist development/management/"Tastemaker"
and CEO of the B-Line Entertainment Group. Myspace Layouts

B-Line encompasses divisions which span from production and industry showcasing to management, booking & marketing.
I am also a contributing writer / photographer for several music magazines. My most recent article appears in the Feb/March issue of URBAN FOLK
Derek was obviously pretty happy about it.
We are now an official NACA booking agent! See our roster and info on sonicbids!

In July of 2006 our showcase division, the B-Sharp Showcase, brought six extraordinarily talented indie artists, from all across the country, to The Living Room on Ludow in NYC for an enormously successful event - The results speak for themselves (See Videos at bottom of this section)
More recently we have just finished up with our second major showcase at Joe's Pub, which featured Lucy Woodward and KIFF.

***THE 2007 B-SHARP SHOWCASE VIDEOS ARE HERE!!
The AMAZING
LUCY WOODWARD
"Love is Gonna Getcha"
and...
KIFF

NOW...Have a look at The 2006
B-Sharp Indie Showcase Videos!!
Prepare to be mesmerized by
SAM & RUBY performing "This I Know"
at the B. Sharp Showcase, NYC
..
Thank you for making our first 'official' New York show
such a brilliant one. We wish there was a phrase more intense than THANK YOU...
The showcase was really a turning point for us.."
-Sam & Ruby

Now check out the stunningly pure vocals and raw emotion of CHRISTOPHER DALLMAN performing
"Driving to You":
.. .. ....>
"Big thanks to BJ for making that night happen.
Though that night was just a fraction of the hard work she's done. Amazing. ... THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THIS THE BEST SUMMER OF MY LIFE."
- Christopher Dallman

Here is Michael Logen performing his award winning song, "Mystery"
.. ..
"The Showcase rocked and was an absolute blast! You and Dave did a tremendous job!...well done...it was an honor to play there."
- Michael Logen

And THIS is the infamous guitar break from GRANIAN:

My Interests

You are listening to the Showcase Artist for
JULY 2008:

IAN AXEL

Imagine, if you will,
finding Billy Joel before
his first album came out,
when he was still playing places the size of the Rockwood, with all the promise of a superstar wrapped up in modest youth…

Don’t blink, or you might miss a very similar opportunity to witness the birth of another great piano/pop star,
IAN AXEL

His star is RAPIDLY on the rise. In the past 12 months his music has received enormous recognition-

Performing Songwriter Magazine said:
"Ian Axel's "im on to you" takes a page out of the Ben Folds songbook...This is not to say that Axel is a straight-up copycat; his sweeter, less cynical voice glides over his beautiful yet somewhat quirky compositions..."

"Heartbreak Girl" featured
in episode 10 of MTV's Real World
( June 18th, 2008)

*"Stand Tall" featured
in episode 11 of MTV's The Real World
( June 25th, 2008).

"We Are" was featured
on MTV's "The Real World Award Bash"
on 4/2/08

"We Are" was featured
on MTV's The Hills!
(Season 3, Episode 12)

"We Are" placed
in the Top 5 (out of 4000)
in NY Songwriters Circle
2007 Songwriting Competition.

All featured on his self released debut EP

He is a self professed quirky neurotic who is obsessed with Peanut Butter and Jelly, which makes him oddly endearing to his fans, as does his clever website which even allows you to sing his songs karaoke style with or without him – hilarious ! click the photo to go there:

You can see him LIVE this month:

Jul 4 2008 10:00P Ian Axel & Friends @ Rockwood Music Hall New York, New York

Jul 12 2008 2:00P Six Flags Great Adventure (Live & Local series) Jackson, New Jersey

Jul 24 2008 8:00P World Cafe Live (NY Songwriter’s Circle in Philly) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I'd like to meet:

Last year I created and produced a pilot concept for a TV series called "Inside Indie Music" which would highlight places/people/companies/cities that are an integral part of the booming indie market. This particular concept video was shot at THE BITTER END and features the New York Songriter's Circle with performances and interviews from Andy Mac, Leslie Mendelson, Jeff Schram, Deena Goodman, Rhen, Circle director, Tina Shafer, and is hosted by Mike Grubbs a.k.a WAKEY WAKEY :

I have just started another page exclusively for my photography services (see link below), here is a little sample:
