The Poet Chosen (Jeremiah Herbert )was born into this cold world with a mother addicted to the street life and drug game, and a dead beat father in which to this date he does not know. So that forced his loving aunt and loving uncle to take him and his sister into there home and raise them both. Growing up in upstate New York ( Liberty ), it was easy for him to get caught up in the street life and all the material things growing up. As a teen he was always selected to be around those people who would help him and mentor him to make the right decisions. Going throw a lot of hardships growing up he became addicted to the element of Hip Hop/Spoken word poetry. This young native from Liberty New York has been writing since to age of 13 he has made impacts on the structural blueprints used to build historical moments. Every time he graces the stages with his presence people know he's serious He has been grinding every since. Graduating from Shenandoah Valley academy He knew what he whatd to do since then and that was to be a full time artist in every aspect. This Spoken word Poet has performed alongside some of the greatest poets and Hip Hop Artists of our time. From The International rock band RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to SAMMIE the world R&B sensation, To the Tony award winning Def Poets on Broadway. His high energy has been felt nationwide. As A touring artists for the last 3 years he has performed in over 15 different states and dozens of colleges. In 2006 at the age of 18 CHOSEN was not only billed at the Nuyorican for a show that sold out over 200 tickets but the Fresh Like also presented Him with the "Best Youth of the year Award an organization helping inner city youth through Hip Hop. In late 2006 on his second U.S Tour CHOSEN THE POET ranked in at 2nd place as one of the top 10 poets to compete in the D.C Baltimore area. Not only is he making noise on stage but also on the air. That same year CHOSEN THE POET aired on MTV, HBO and B.E.T. In 2007 CHOSEN rose to the top by performing and touring once again while still maintaining a stellar performance. One of the performances included a show at the famous House of Blues in Chicago with Rage Against the Machine for over 1500 people. Current projects include his first poetry book entitled "The Struggle Within and his debut on the upcoming film on underground Hip Hop and Poetry due to be released soon. And his Mixtape CD out entitled " I wish vol" in which he has sold over 5,000 cd by hand.
