Devin “The Poet” a Brooklyn native feels as though his poetry is a “direct reflection of self.” His poetry can traverse the realms of light hearted to heavy themes; overall Devin establishes an uncanny connection with his audience. He currently attends John Jay College, majoring in International Criminal Justice entering his junior year. Devin has been juggling his spoken word career and college since his exit from high school around 3 years ago. Since then he has rocked numerous venues as well as universities all over the country from New York to Califorina. When it comes to the slam poetry scene Devin “The Poet” is a force to be reckoned with. He is one of the youngest poets to win a spot on the historical Nuyorican Poets Café Slam team; he is the New York Knicks 2006 Slam champion, Urban Word NYC 2006 Slam Finalist and all of this accomplished before his approaching 20th birthday. He has shared the stage with some of the World's Top spoken word artist as well as accumulating various honors in the process. His main goal remains “engrave his words in the psyche of history never to be forgotten”. Devin has released his first album "You Know What" which is based on the fact that you do know what, simple as that. On a side note Devin the Poet is a founding memeber of " The Reckless Takeover Tour" which will be coming to a school near you very soon.
