My work quite naturally seeks out a unity and wholeness. Within this are integrated many aspects of contemporary music with no perceived barriers. My language is not ‘eclectic', but ‘distilled', drawing on elements of improvisation, electronica, song-writing and large-scale classical form. It seeks to develop presentational frameworks that extend notions of audience-performance relationships.As well as composing for a wide range of performers and ensembles, much of my work is created for my own two groups, the Homemade Orchestra and MooV. This has led to the ability to search deeper and longer into areas of fascination and nurture richer, ongoing relationships with certain key performers.
