About Me

'No doubt about the night's stars... juice proved as tangy as their moniker. They have a delightful manner but there's nothing casual about their technical skills. (4 stars)' The Times, January 2008

'In everything they sang... their virtuosity was never for a second in doubt. (4 stars)' The Guardian, January 2008'juice have stage-presence in abundance; collectively they are formidable... the singers' range of sounds, pitches and techniques were compelling... spellbinding, flawless performances.' Classical Source online, January 2008'They perform... with complete commitment and communication - and are utterly captivating.' Musical Pointers (www.musicalpointers.co.uk), January 2008'a fantastic vocal group…just superb’ Tim Winter and Joshua Meggit, 'Dead or Alive' on Resonance FM, December 2007'The singing is excellent throughout, with ... Juice more than matching the more established Hilliards and Red Byrd.' Stephen Chase, spnm, on Roger Marsh's 'Pierrot Lunaire', NMC'The most original group in the competition' Aamulehti (Finnish national newspaper), June 2007, on juice's second prize at the Tampere Vocal Festival.'****' The Guardian, May 2007, on Roger Marsh's 'Pierrot Lunaire'.juice are an experimental vocal trio, specialising in jaw-dropping a cappella noise which embraces modern classical music, borrows from jazz, rubs up against folk and twists pop round our little finger... juice also collaborate closely with electronica artists and visual artists and put on quirky, dark theatrical shows. You'll hear anything from Bjork mash-ups to beautifully pure harmonies, eerie American folk songs and growling harmonics.juice has performed nationally and internationally, at festivals including fuseleeds, the Spor Festival in Denmark, the Sound Source at Cargo, the bmic's Cutting Edge series and national tour and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. They were the first UK group ever to be prizewinners at the Tampere Vocal Festival in June 2007. They have recently appeared on Roger Marsh's 'Pierrot Lunaire' on the NMC label and performed with UK Beatboxing Champion Beardyman at the London College of Fashion Graduate Show. They have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM's Chiller Cabinet and Resonance FM.
