Is the 2007 Individual World Poetry Slam Champion
Has been writing and performing for several years.
He is one of the most successful slamming poets to come out of Ohio.
He has been a member of and coached several winning Rust Belt Regional Poetry Slam Teams out of Columbus, Ohio.
He is the only indie poet to compete at Rust Belt Regional Poetry Slam and the National Poetry Slam.
Ed is a two time Haiku National Slam Champion.
Ed has performed on the indie finals stage at the National Poetry Slam.
Ed took 2nd in the 2004 Individual World Poetry Slam.
Ed was a member of the only Columbus team to make it to semis at the National Poetry Slam.
He is the winningest slamming poet in Columbus to date.
He has won slams at the coveted Green Mill Tavern, is a two time winner of the University of Dayton LitFest Slam, Three time ComFest Champion, Four time HotTimes Festival Champion,two time Jazz Slam Champion, SlamBush Slam Champion (region and national finalist), took 2nd in the 2005 LEAF Festival, Way With Words Slam Champion, 2 time Wright State University Invitational Slam Champ, only poet to slam for both venues in Columbus, Ohio....and alot more spots.
Ed has released two books, "From the Page to the Stage and Back Again" to critcal acclaim and "Revoked:My GhettoPass(ivity)" which was a limited release item.
Ed has released two cd's of his own work, and has been on projects with other artists and dj's.
Ed's work-
-Has been used in art exhibits at The Whitney Museum.
-Is in the library of several colleges and universities as resource material.
-Has been in several publications including two anthologies of poetry, four magazines, and can be seen and heard on several PSI(Poetry Slam Inc.) DVDs.
-Has been used as a source for inspiration for painters.,
-Has been turned into a play.

-has performed workshops and given seminars at over 20 Universities, twice for the Ohio Poetry Association, and is the only person to have been a student one year and then be asked to come back and teach at the incredible Slam Camp, sponsored by PSI(Poetry Slam Inc.). Ed is a co-founder and member of performing poetry groups Crossing Palms and will.ed.speak
-is the founder of Black Pearl Poetry, an open mic and slam which gives the people of Ohio a great place to enjoy performances or come and perform themselves. In its' first year, Black Pearl Poetry recorded the biggest turnout for a regular open mic/slam in town, sent a poet to the 2006 IWPS (Individual World Poetry Slam), a team to the 2006 Rust Belt Regional Poetry Slam, and the 2006 National Poetry Slam. The national team in its first year from this venue became the second highest ranking team to ever come out of Columbus. Black Pearl Poetry has also brought in more features from abroad than all poetry venues in the tri city area combined.
-is part of the team that is putting Columbus on the poetry map by bringing the 2007 Rust Belt Regional Poetry Slam and the 2008 Individual World Poetry Slam here.
Ed outside of poetry-
-does voiceovers and has done them for McDonalds, OSU Medical, Humana, and many others.
-gives workshops on poetry (slam tips, performance cues, touring guides, and more) and does one on one work with actors/actresses.
-has his own theater company IBT Theater (which is currently being purchased by Black Pearl Productions LLC)
-is the only minority to direct and star in a play in Columbus for a major non-minority theater company.
-has directed plays, performed in several and written three of his own, including a revision of Lawrence Fishburne's infamous Riff Raff.
-has been in three major motion pictures.
-has had a starring role in a made for television movie on both Fox and ABC.
-has been a performer on a highly rated daytime talk show.
Ed is-
-producing three shows for the King Arts Complex in 2007.
-writing and producing two one man shows.
-is half of the duo will.ed.speak (a two man performance poetry duet)
-opening several other open mics in the next two years.
-host of the popular Black Pearl Poetry open mic and slam series.
-the coach and slam master for Black Pearl Poetry.
-co-producing an album with DJ/Producer JRawls of LoneCatalyst and Polar Records fame.
-founder of the Columbus SHESLAM, Columbus' first and only women's only slam.
Ed will-
be touring in 2007 in a limited engagement tour.
