Books:

Are something more of us need to write. We want an accurate depiction of us in history, we will have write it ourselves. Until then we must read all we can, then think for ourselves, critically about what we have read.

Read anything by Cheikh Anta Diop, everything by Toni Morrisson, especially her book Song of Solomon, Zora Neale Hurston, J. California Cooper, a definite read for inspiration. I love Nikki Giovanni's writing and have been inspired to write since I heard Ego Tripping. Wait I can't leave out Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.
And Yes I do like the whole Harry Potter series. Get a life you muggles, yea I said it Harry Potter!

Heroes:

Mama and Daddy, Malcolm X, Nat Turner, Gabriel Prosser, Harriet Tubman, Ghandi, Mandela, etc
