About Me

Passionate about poetry/writing she's generally found posted up at a corner table at a poetry set engrossed in the moment...a watcher and listener who avoids spotlight once off the stage. Once terrified of public speaking, her "ALTER EGO *1st CD title*" has led her to be active on the poetry scene for the past 6 years. She rep'd Milwaukee in both nat'l & reg'l slams since 2004 and has done countless features, shows and youth workshops. Most recently she's opened up 2007 & 2009 "The Gathering" featuring Mo'Nique & Pep of Salt N Pepa. 2007's Milwaukee Grand Slam Champion has spread her wings to other states, taking on features & winning slams outside of Wisconsin. Influences: Coming up I never read poetry but always loved words...the words of Hip Hop on 860 WNOV back in the day...The words in Channel 8 videos back in the day...I bobbed to the sounds of Eric B, NWA, Tupac, OUTKAST, Erykah, India...They inspired me not to be them but to always appreciate words...They influenced me by always having a message...My inspiration for poetry...Life and all it's experiences, death of friends & family, love and lack of, disregard for who I was & who I was meant to be, pain & misunderstandings! And positively, my husband directly, my mom indirectly...
