I'd like to meet:
Friends -- those who think outside the box and are, like me, tree hugging dirt worshippers and UNAFRAID TO SPEAK AND ACT OUT OF TRUTH - EVEN IF IT'S INCONVENIENT.

Music:
So much music, so little time. I identify with Cosmic American Music (a phrase coined by the late, great Gram Parsons) i.e. Blues, Folk, Rock, Country, Bluegrass -- Acoustic to Electric. Emmy Lou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss, Melissa Etheridge, REM, Talking Heads, Indigo Girls. Did I mention Reggae? The best concert of all times was Bob Marley and the Wailers. I also love Jam Bands (Been to some great Dead Shows) and Art Rock (currently turned on to the Decemberists in a big way). And let's not forget the saviour of Rock and Roll, Bruce Springsteen. In the right mood, you can give me some Show Tunes too or sit back and listen to Carmina Burana or some Bach or Beethoven. I could go on and on and on. The best of all is to see LIVE MUSIC! So here's to all my friends whose gigs I go to. You bring me as much joy as the huge national acts I've seen.
Movies:
My taste goes from the Sublime to the Ridiculous. Life is Beautiful to the Aristocrats. Currently, I must say the best film I've seen in years is Across the Universe, directed by Julie Taymor, who also directed Frida, one of the other of my all time favorites.
Television:
Not much of a fan. Loved some HBO series, especially Deadwood, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under. Otherwise it's mainly movies for me.
Books:
I want a story that takes me out of my life, but shows me the similarities. Fiction and Fantasy mostly. Anything by Tom Robbins.
Heroes:
My heroes are innovatively talented geniuses that change the way you think forever. They include my CURRENT FRIENDS as well as so many other inspirational individuals like Joni Mitchell, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Julian Schnabel, Patti Smith, The Beatles (including George Martin), Jerry Garcia, Bruce Springsteen, Graham Parsons and Emmy Lou Harris. A special mention to the 2006 Oscar recipients Al Gore and Melissa Etheridge for a creative mix of politics and art and to DENNIS KUCINICH, who was a great Democratic Presidential Candidate, he can still change your vision. We can change the world!
