Alex Akela has started his musical career as a violinist, playing classical music solo and in a symphony orchestra. Now, many years later and thousands of miles down the road he's creating his own musical landscape - a mix of blues, folk and Americana, with a couple of jazzy chords and some good pop flavour there in between. Melancholic stories about lonesome trips in a night train, unshared love or gone lovers, endless search for your own place in this world, hoping that you will finally come home one day. And, on the other hand, hopeful lyrics about incredibly beautiful summer evenings, rainbows as the rain is over, friends who get you out of trouble and accidental, unforgettable encounters. Mostly autobiographical, serene and romantic here, sarcastic and sharp-tongued there...
Yet Alex has also earned the reputation of a talented and inventive sideman, playing a dozen of different instruments mostly by ear. For the last two years only he has been touring with Vanessa Peters (USA), Michael Weston King (UK), Terje Nordgarden (N), MC Hansen (DK), Marijn Wijnands (MaRain, NL), Hanneke de Jong (NL) and many others.
