Applied spirituality, music / composition, quantum physics, metaphysics, oil painting, novel writing, rock hunting, screenplay writing, singing, acting, biblical history, oceanography, plate techtonics, camping high up in Montana, fishing (if I don't catch anything because I've now turned into a giant weenie) looking at the stars while by a bonfire in the middle of the night, eating. Geez, I love to eat.
God -- but I guess I will someday.
Annie Lennox -- this woman is a phenom.
Dolly Parton -- the happiest person alive.
Ron Howard -- I admire his personhood very much.
Morgan Fairchild -- my childhood hero.
Johnny Cash -- That needs no explaination.
Clint Eastwood -- no one can squint like Clint.
Other Paranormal Researchers -- you guys bring the unseen reality to the masses and help people understand what I see everyday.
Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Pink, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Cash, Live, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Enya, Dixie Chicks, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Beatles, Pope Jane and Junkie Cousin (okay, I know, those are my bands, but I like our music...), anything 80's wave throwback -- Depeche Mode, Bau Haus, OMD, Tears for Fears, etc. -- Alison Krauss, Celine Dion, Madonna, Gloria Estefan, Nickel Creek, Moody Blues, Melissa Etheridge, Josh Grobin, Sarah Brightman, Gershwin, Shakira, Enigma, Andrea Bocelli, Aimee Mann, and so many Indies that I would take up an entire page listing them, so I'll only throw up a few: Push Start Wagon, Dan Page and The Barn Cats, Soul Brat, Laura Cohn, and the Native American Axeman, Toadster!
I love movies!!! I watch a ton of them. Here are just a few that I dig quite a bit: Alien(s) ; Brokeback Mountain ; It's a Wonderful Life ; 300 ; 1408 ; Million Dollar Hotel ; The Devil Wears Prada ; Momento ; any M. Knight Shaymalan movie ; Finder's Fee ; War of the Worlds (both orignal and remake) ; Girls Will Be Girls [HYSTERICAL!!!!] ; Bubba Hotep ; Blades of Glory ; B-Sci Fi's; Polar Express ; On Golden Pond ; Shawshank Redemption ; any Christmas movie where someone has a dead parent who comes back as an angel ; O Brother Where Art Thou?
TV is fickle -- I just find a show and fall in love with it, and four shows in, they cancel the series! But, that withstanding, here are the shows that have once or are currently filling up my Tivo: Heroes ; Journey Man ; Deadliest Catch ; Rome (I was beyond addicted to this show, and I can't believe HBO didn't re-up another season of this amazingly written and acted series -- WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, HBO???) ; The L Word ; Supernatural ; Dresden Files ; Special Unit 2 ; Dead Famous ; Celebrity Paranormal Project ; Most Haunted; Ghost Hunters ; 4400 ; Medium ; Ghost Whisperer ; Masters of Horror (though it's been scaring the crap out of me this season -- eeks); X-Files (I LOVE DANA SCULLY!) ; Psychic Detectives ; Discovery Science ; The Closer ; Law and Order SVU ; Star Trek -- Original, Next Generation, Voyager ; The Dead Zone ; South Park ; Ab Fab ; Reno 911 ; Strangers With Candy ; and MAD TV!
I hate to admit it, but I am an informational reader -- when I do read, it's never much fiction. I read the web like an encyclopedia. Or I read "How-To" books, such as the legal workings of film and TV. I know. It's weird. I do a lot of non-fiction works: "Autobiography of a Yogi" ; "Your Word is Your Wand" and all of Florence Scovill Shinn's Spiritual books; "Course of Miracles" ; "Quantum Relationships" ; "This Business of Music" by Donald Passman ; Or if it is a rare fiction occasion, anything by Tom Robbins or Stephen King.
Anyone who reaches outside of themself to another person, even for a flash. People who choose growth over bitterness. Kind people, who don't need to make others feel rotten about themselves in order to have some fragile sense of their own identity. My grandparents, because they bucked up, made amazing contributions to the world, and weren't whiners.
