We are everyday citizens who noticed missing links within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Intersex, Questioning and Allied communities here in Tacoma. It seemed, even as a queer community, we all kind of stuck to our own cliques and never really came together as a true inclusive community. When the opportunity arose to be able to work on Tacoma's local pride event, we, as a group, then realized we could also provide access to other quality events at interesting venues throughout the South Sound that would allow everyone varied opportunities to get together, socialize and meet their neighbors . We got really excited that day and soon after incorporated as the non-profit group Out In Tacoma.
We took one singular event back in 2003, Out In the Park, and let it feed the rest of our mission. We continue to develop our programming and invite you to join us for Pride Week, The Daffodil Parade as well as many other LGBTQIA events we particapate in. We do this because we love where we live and strive to make it a place that we are all happy to call home.
