I'd like to meet:
People who share at least some of my values, likes and dislikes. A woman who believes in love and loyalty. People who are somewhat educated, take themselves seriously but like to wing it sometimes when it comes to life in general. Be fun, funny, outgoing, enjoy sarcasm and orneriness and appreciate life and those you let into it. Women who have strong relationships with their parents are most welcome (never dated a girl who's dad didn't like me) but "Daddies Little Princesses" are a dime a dozen. If you don't know the difference I can explain it.Your results:

Music:
SPRINGSTEEN, John Lennon, Bob Marley, Dylan, Zappa, Clapton (in all his incarnations), Jimi, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles, The Police, The Ramones, The Who, All Motown especially Marvin Gaye, The Doors, KISS, Nuge, The Stones, The Clash, Pearl Jam, Jackson Brown, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, etc. Love the Blues. Even some country if it's not BS. Dwight Yoakam, Waylon, Willie, Johnny, Kris, Kentucky Headhunters, The Maverics. Basically anything pioneering, with great sonwriters and or brilliant musicianship. I'm sorry but teenie pop is crap. American Idol is BS and Alicia Keys is a hack. So sue me. Don't like rap but can appreciate it (again, unless it's BS). Hip hop is crap but I'll watch women dance to it. If your ONLY factor in deciding if you like a song is whether you can dance to it, we won't have much in common. The following artists are friends of mine who run the gamut of music but all sort of embody what I love about music. Check them out if you ever get a chance or visit their sites. This is my friend Sean. An AMAZING voice and intellegent songwriting. She's got a real earthy feel in her music. Grounded. The style is a mix of Rock n' Roll, Blues, Country & Southern Rock. Not easy to catagorize but that's what makes her great. Oh, and she's a sweetheart too. Her guitar player is Paul Houston who is an incredible blues guitarist. I suspect he's channeling Stevie Ray Vaughn. Go see her live for the full effect. This is my friend Rocky Whatule. He's a comedian not a musician but this is where I'm putting my links so here he is. He's a riot. Check out his myspace site and his website for upcoming shows. He aslo MC's the Turtle Races at Brennan's in Marina Del Rey on Thursday's. It's a great time! Go check it out and go see Rock perform.32 BELOW is my friend Jeb's band. Country/Party Band. They're from North Dakota. Jeb was actually iin my band in High School and the rest of our band decided to stop playing with him because he wasn't very good. Well, Jeb kept practicing and we all went our seperate ways. Now Jeb kicks unbelievable ass (more than any of us ever did)!!! He's the fiddle player/guitarplayer/mandolin/player. The band is now in Nashville and very close to getting signed. They have 2 cd's and soon a live one. Go to the music section of their site. Listen to Baton Rouge (Garth Brooks cover) and the other excellent original material. Plus watch the video clip from the "Farewell to Fargo" show. There's 2 songs on the clip. The second one is "If you're gonna play in Texas" (Alabama cover) and watch Jeb rock out on the fiddleThis is my boy, Andrew Paul Woodworth. Andrew is, no bull shit, one of the best songwriters and frontmen I've ever heard or seen. He's just simply, amazing. Andrew was the lead singer for Elephant Ride which was produced by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. After that project Andrew helped form the band VIRGIL which was one of the greatest unsigned bands ever. They still have a website with music available to listen to and cd's to purchase (listed below). Virgil broke up earlier this year and now Andrew is starting a solo project and his new cd comes out on Fri, Oct 7th. It's titled "I Hate Music". Although I'm touting his writing skills, the first single is a cover of "Fight For Your Right" by the Beastie Boys who have never allowed anyone to cover anything of their's - until now. It was used on the Season Finale of One Tree Hill. It's an incredibly amitious album that emphasizes his writing and musicianship. To really appreciate this artist you MUST see him liveThe Band where it all started. Listen to the music, buy the cd and enjoy. Additional earlier tracks are available on the Real Player network. They will be missed.

OK that sucks, I could go on forever. That doesn't even include most of the good stuff made in the last few years. Not big into action movies. As far as comedies, Ben Stiller has totally worn out his welcome with me. Not that I don't like occasional toilet humor and sophmoric sight gags but I'm just sick of him (and therefore Vince Vaughn too). I like dark comedy like Rushmore, Lost in Translation, Wag the Dog, Fargo etc. I also love all the Christopher Guest movies i.e. Spinal Tap, Best In Show, Mighty Wind, etc. I also love Kevin Smith movies. My main interest though is just well done dramas (and then over analyzing them out of existance).
Television:
Don't watch a lot of television and when I do mainly South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy, (man, I guess I watch a lot of cartoons) The Shield (best show on TV), The Daily Show and Colbert Report, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Chappelle's Show, Smallville (ok was a comic geek and this is a guilty pleasure), Cheers reruns, I watch a lot of News and CSPAN. I'm kind of a dork like that. Also history channel. I believe that MTV killed music! So, yeah, I don't watch much of that. Oh and NO reality TV.
Books:
current events, historical lit, political satire, social commentaries (in general, mostly anything non-fiction). I like anything from Plato to Al Franken or from "The Encylcopedia of Biblical Errancy" to Green Lantern comic books or Oscar Wilde to mom's old cookbooks. Best publication = The Onion
Heroes:
Anyone who has served, is serving or will serve in tthe US military, Bruce Springsteen, Harrison Ford, Howard Dean, Peter Fonda, Marlon Brando, anyone who speaks out without fear of reprisal, trail blazers, mavericks, My mom and dad, my crew, Marya, Matt, Erick, Chris, Mike, Al Frankin, John Stewert and the staff of the Daily Show, Bob Marley, John Lennon
