Canadiana Cowboy

About Me

Tim Hus has a voice sweeter than a Husqvarna chainsaw and a list of songs longer than a Saskatchewan fence line! Following his well recieved CD Alberta Crude comes the highly anticipated third album Huskies & Husqvarnas - a collection of outlaw roots music featuring 12 outstanding songs about bootleggers, buckin horses, bulldozers and everything that is embraced in the West. From CB radio and truck driving songs about hauling domestic beer on the Trans-Canada highway to working the mines of Flin Flon to the lonesome lure of the North and prohibition era rumrunning: Tims distinctive songwriting and spirited performances by the members of his dynamic band make this album a cornerstone of authentic Canadiana! The Alberta based singer with the black hat and easygoing personality is a captivating and crowd pleasing performer who easily draws listeners into the settings of his music. Influenced by the likes of Stompin Tom, Johnny Cash and Ian Tyson, Tim has developed a style he can call his own.He is a true storyteller with his distinct brand of down to earth country and roots music. He has performed in many venues throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Maritimes, repeatedly being asked to return. In 2002 he received a very positive response to his music while performing at Canadian exhibitions in Germany.Tim tours and performs concerts with his band Tim Hus & The Rocky Mountain Two, featuring Rick Preston on lead guitar and Spider Bishop on upright string bass. Preston is an extremely talented and versatile musician having played with the likes of Dave Dudley (Six Days on the Road) and Lucille Star (The Tommy Hunter Show). Solid licks and agreeable melodies reinforce the songs while Spider lays down a solid rhythm with doghouse slap and a thick groove. Tim Hus and his band will continue to perform in support of Huskies & Husqvarnas with performances at festivals, folk clubs and music venues throughout Canada.
