About Me

Edmonton Singer/Songwriter. Jessica Heine (pronounced hi-na) plays solo, with the House Kats (www.myspace.com/housekats), or with the Younger Band. Classically trained, she sets herself apart with an engaging onstage personality, eclectic and meaningful songwriting, and an incredible voice! While it can be quiet and sensitive, the perfect compliment to a nice evening on a front porch or at a cafe with a glass of wine, her voice can also bring the house down when she really lets go.Jessica released her debut CD, Either Way, in 2006, and has since become a favorite and mainstay at local folk music venues and several Folk Clubs. Heine spent the summer of 2008 recording a new CD and playing multiple festivals in central and southern Alberta. Look for the release of her second CD in the spring of 2009.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: jessicaheine.com
Band Members: The House Kats (Terry Nadasdi, Marc Ladouceur & Don Marcotte) or The Younger Band (Matt Grier, Keith Rempel, Brennan Cameron)
Influences: My mom and dad, all the fantastic local singer-songwriters I meet, people with captivating stories, and the great folk-singing folk who've come before (we all know who they are).
Sounds Like: I've been told I sound like Sarah Harmer, Loreena McKennitt, Tracy Chapman Buffy-Sainte Marie, Joan Baez and Janis Joplin at various points. While I don't personally claim to sound like any of these lovely ladies, I admire all of them and am honored to think that people see something of that calibre in my performances. Take a listen to some tracks, come check out a show (or better yet, both) and let me know what you think.
Record Label: Unsigned
