“Paul Thomas is one of the most consistent and freshest DJs aroundâ€
Nic Fanciulli
Dusted are pleased to announce the new signing of PAUL THOMAS, Godskitchen resident, Toolroom records producer and stalwart member of the nu breed of house music… At only 27 Paul Thomas is someone who is causing something of a major stir in the dance music fraternity. With props from some of the most highly respected producers and DJs in the world including Pete Tong, Sasha & Steve Lawler; the massive success of his own clubbing brand ‘Dex in the City’ and a raft of upcoming releases planned for 2007… Paul Thomas is undoubtedly one of those artists who makes you sit up and take notice.
Paul has been DJing since 1998 when he was spotted by Bedrock’s Steve Gerrard whilst playing at early Stereo and Sundissential parties His major breakthrough came in 2003 where Godskitchen snapped him us as their new resident to open their own flagship venue Air. Since then with the backing of the Godskitchen team his profile has simply risen enormously. A mammoth 6hr NYE set earned him a legion of fans and an official residency with the UK’s biggest club brand. Paul’s Godskitchen residency continues to go from strength to strength where he frequently plays alongside the biggest names in dance music. During the past 3 years, Paul has played for Godskitchen more than any other DJ spinning alongside the likes of Deep Dish, Tiesto, Sasha, Erick Morillo, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Layo & Bushwacka!, Xpress2 and Fergie to name but a few.
Paul is no stranger to major events and this summer will see him return to play the huge Global Gathering festival in the UK on the Radio 1 outdoor stage to 15,000 people for the fourth year running. Last year his peak set was highly regarded as one of the festival’s best where following Sasha he handed over to Groove Armada on the Radio 1 main stage. 2007 continues to be a year for high profile events as Paul made his debut at the first ever Global Gathering event held in the Ukraine where he performed on the main stage beside Gabriel & Dresden. The event organisers were so pleased with his performance he was promptly given a second peak slot playing between Steve Angello & Danny Howells in the Kiss FM arena.
Paul continues clocking up the air miles by playing high profile parties all over the globe as Godskitchen’s official worldwide tour DJ. As we fly into the summer Paul will be making his debut at the Zurich Love Parade playing on the main stage, float and after party for Godskitchen. Further international tours are lined up for China, South America, USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland, Egypt, Russia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Brazil & Dubai in the first half of the year alone. Further tours for Godskitchen Worldwide are planned in Ukraine, Germany, Dubai, Norway, South Korea, Malaysia, Turkey and Holland to name but a few...
Paul’s own clubbing brand, Dex in the City continues to go from strength to strength. The hotly anticipated brand is again causing a major stir in the UK club scene, throwing some off-the-wall parties in warehouses & car park’s and knocking down musical barriers in the process. With the first international party confirmed for Slovenia in July; 2007 will also see Dex in the City branch out globally…
Production is key for 2007 and Paul has been busy working away in the studio on a number of exciting new projects. His 1st mix compilation was released in April 2007 in conjunction with FHM Asia, which has featured rave reports and contains exclusive material of his own. Paul’s latest release, ‘Slubberdegullion’ is signed to Toolroom and has been snapped up to the new Kissdafunk & Godskitchen Albums respectively. Paul has further tracks and remixes signed to major labels for release this year…
• Paul Thomas / Funkagenda (aka PTFA) remix of ‘Perfect Motion’ signed to the new Godskitchen compilation – quoted as one of the biggest tunes at the Miami Winter Music Conference and in Ibiza this year
• ‘In My Mind’ snapped up by Cosmonote Blue for release summer 2007
• Remix of Martin Brodin's Red Rubber on the legendary Whoop! imprint
• Further remixes for Whoop and Toolroom are in the pipeline
• Dec 2006 end of year issue of M8 Paul received full page accolades for his rework of Bassheads – ‘Is There Anybody Out There’ and it is no wonder Paul was given a New Producers feature on Radio 1
• Paul Thomas & Sonny Wharton remix of Da Hool's classic Meet Her At The Love Parade
• New Funkagenda & Paul Thomas collaboration, The Acid signed to a rather large house label
• Watch out for Paul’s hot new remix of D.Ramirez & Mark Knight – Colombian Soul, remixes for Baroque, Gabriel & Dresden and future collaborations with Sonny Wharton & Redanka…
With an extremely busy DJ schedule, new and original material getting Radio 1, Galaxy and club support from the likes of Pete Tong, Nic Fanciulli and Steve Lawler Paul Thomas’ profile can only rise and rise. All in all 2007 promises to be a very successful year for this talented and deserving young man… WATCH OUT!
