Influences: From the 70s through the early 80s the Michigan under ground music scene was primarily noted for producing two types of bands: hard rockin proto punk or vicious pummeling hardcore. In the case of the State they could and did pull off both generes though they would remain best known as being a hardcore band with their punishing "No Illusions" 7" sitting high atop many a hardcore record collector's want list. More than twenty years after these recordings were made they still sound as vital as the band itself, who continue blasting out the tunes with all their youthful energy intact to a whole new generation of frenzied fanatics. -Grand Theft Audio.
