About Me

Raised in New York by the ocean where the stars are brightest, I wanted to be a drummer. Hit on the knuckles by my kindergarten teacher for drumming on my desk, I discovered writing was quieter. Wrote for the bands I performed in. Bands are good for girls. Girls are good at inspiring songs. Songs are good for bands. The cycle of life.
Performed in a local Chapel Hill, NC band with brother Steve Hamlin and Scot Sherrod. Recorded a CD w/Scot who engineered and played drums while I produced and played the instruments. My cover of Todd Rundgren’s “Open My Eyes” appears on Rundgren’s tribute CD.
Moved to Woodstock in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York and started another band w/Steve. Performed regularly at The Tinker Street Café where Bob Dylan worked out his songs of the mid sixties. Assisted with the recording of the last album by Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees ’The Band’ and wrote with their legendary drummer Levon Helm.
Like many before me, I arrived in Nashville with my guitar and belongings. A year later I was writing blues with Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), soul with Jonell Mosser (world's best singer) and country with signed artists.
I’ve had too many brushes with success than I care to remember. But, that’s life in Music City where we head back to the guitar & pen to have some fun along the way writing the next one… and the next…
My songs “Inside” & “I’ve Arrived!” appear on the upcoming 2008 CD release by Nathan Lee Jackson produced by Jeff Glixman (Kansas, Black Sabbath, Georgia Satellites, Ludicris and others). Nathan was recently signed by C.A.A. (Creative Artists Agency) and is poised to sign a major label deal.
Six of my songs have been cut by Indie artists and I have a few major label artist holds. Musically, I’m working hard for a breakthrough with the majors. Personally, I am blessed to be enjoying my life which is filled with amazing family, friends and music!
Thanks for listening. Turn it up! I still want to be a drummer
