About Me

Experimental Film/Event Videography - Projects created under BROTHER IMMORTAL are under way

Recent developments in the fields of Media and Entertainment technology are indeed revolutionary in nature. Information and knowledge are expanding in quantity and accessibility. In many fields future filmmakers will be presented with new tools for creating their art and visions. The consequences could be quite revolutionary. Communications and information technology have enormous potential especially for developing new film and video from otherwise untapped sources. The ability to move any combination of voice, video and digital data at this speed is unprecedented. Both Multimedia and connectivity to it are leading us to the Information Society where filmmakers, their audience as well as enterprises will have similar access to information and communication.

.. BROTHER IMMORTAL: Is a concept that follows an evolving process. It was born from the idea of perfection vs. imperfection. In its infancy it was an experimental film but now it has become a home for many projects. These projects will cover a wide range of stories and topics. Reality, abstract, music, documentary, drama, comedy and all things in-between.

Television:

Experimental video, video art, electronic art, alternative TV, community video, guerrilla video: these are a few of the labels that have been applied to a body of works that are beginning to emerge around the world. Arguably, the most important of these labels is "experimental." The dominant goal of this video movement over the past 30 years has been change, achieved through the strategy of experimentation. The consistent target for this change has been television--commercially supported, network broadcast, mainstream television--whose success with mass audiences was the result of the repetition of proven formulas rather than aesthetic, ideological or industrial innovation or experimentation. It is perhaps commercial television's ability to interpret the uncertain world within the context of familiar conventions that makes it an essential part of everyday life in most of the world. And it is this body of familiar interpretations that became the challenge of experimental video artists. Television is a parody of itself - What the mass media offers is not popular art, but entertainment which is intended to be consumed like fast food, forgotten, and replaced by a new dish. The "Function" of TV in society is to inform and amuse us, but its "Role" in society is to make as much money as possible through sponsorship and advertising. The content on TV is designed to capture your attention long enough for the advertisers vie to grab your attention so you will buy their clients products. Programs are only as good as the amount of quality advertisements being shown during commercial breaks. TV as we all know is very popular, but it is popular mainly as fiction/or a false sense of a reality that does not exist. All things on TV are created out of context, and then viewed by all of us out of context. Life is one world all on its own, and life seen on TV is another.
