I have been playing in cover bands since 1963. The first band was The Interns from 1963-66. They were, Frank Sutton (Bass), Alan Craig (Drums), Andy Neil (Rhythm) and Johnny Campbell (Lead Vocal). Johnny is presently a kit man with Manchester United. We supported bands like the Small Faces, Moody Blues, Spencer Davis Group, whos keyboard and guitarist was Steve Winwood. We played all over Scotland and the north of England. This was a great time to be in a band and I treasure the memories! I got married in 1967 and had two daughters, Tracey and Pauline within two years. (We're still together)! The next band was Frekels from 1972- 86. They were George Nimmo (Bass), Frank Donnelly (Rhythm), and Ronnie Young (Lead Vocal). Ronnie left in 1986 to do cabaret and was replaced by Dougie Henderson on drums. Dougie played with the Poets, Marmalade and Blues Poets before joining us. George left not long after Ronnie and was replaced by Ian McCallum (Busby). We changed our name to Deliverance. In 1992 Frank and I became a two piece called Tusk and we still play. Although I've been playing guitar for all these years, I had to tackle the keyboard in order to provide our backing tracks so my good friend, music teacher Bill Kerr gave me lessons from 1998 until 2005. He also taught me up to grade 5 in music theory as it was time I knew about this thing I had been doing all my life.
