wake up and smell the Rock & Roll...

About Me

Magnus Blaze are a four-piece rock band from Ayrshire, Scotland.
Originally formed in late October 2001, whilst studying music at college, the band embarked on playing the ‘live circuit’, performing in various pubs, clubs and venues within the Ayrshire/Glasgow area, under the name, Milestone.
In January 2005, the band recorded their debut album, ‘Let’s Talk Rock’ (renamed Rock ‘n’ Roll’ on release) at CaVa Studios, Glasgow. The album was produced by Geoff Allan, who has collaborated with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Belle & Sebastian and Mogwai.
Magnus Blaze performed at the Camden Barfly, August 2005, competing in a competition hosted by Kerrang Magazine, searching for the best unsigned act in Europe. Through eight intense weeks, the band was whittled down to the ‘top three’ from over four thousand acts.
"This slick Scottish gang have obviously devised a time-machine to transport them back to the legendary Sunset Strip to soak up the good-time rock 'n' roll vibes of days gone by! Utterly Fantastic...KKKK" - Kerrang
Following the bands success in London, the band where then discovered by Independent label, Horsepower Records.
"They have attitude, melodies coming for every instrument and a frontman who's stage presence is a mixture of Aerosmith's Steve Tyler and Rod Stewart. He has a voice with all the great rock gods mixed into one" - Horsepower Records
The current line up consists of lead vocalist, Dave Marwick, lead guitarist Andy Brown, bassist, Rich Atkinson and Chris Atkinson on drums/percussion.
Through the years, Magnus Blaze have been lucky enough to perform on the same stage as Toby Jepson, Planet of Women, Ambulance LTD, Surfa Rosa but to name a few. Mixed together with a modern twist, this band deliver rock 'n' roll the way it should be… rockin' riffs, thunderous drums, pumping bass and raw soaring vocals.
Back & Broken Carling Academy, Glasgow - January 23rd 2008
Out All Night Manchester Academy - February 7th 2008
This year seen Magnus Blaze conquer the global Bodog Battle competition The band were voted as one of the best unsigned bands from Scotland, making it right through to the European stages and playing such venues as the Glasgow and Manchester Academy.
These next few months will see the band playing alongside rock legends Nazareth and Bad Company, undoubtedly placing Magnus Blaze in a league of their own...
