Craig Payne

Hi People!
Well, this year I have set up my own music label, Craig Payne Music Limited, and I am really happy with the way my career and the music I write has moved to the next level.
2008 has been pretty cool so far. I was so pleased with my new home studio gear that I kind of immersed myself in recording for the past six months. The end result being I have recorded and produced three 13 track albums this year.
My 5th album "Wanderlust" will be released world-wide on iTunes, Amplifier and digiRAMA on September 1st 2008.
No doubt there'll be the odd criticism from some regarding five albums in a year but the numbers are largely due to my writing and recording demo's for the previous 20-years. The material from those demos has given me a diverse musical piggy bank to crack open and although some of its contents are old currency - the exchange rate seems to be working for me at the moment.
My plans for the rest of this year are simply to unwind, become inspired and play some very small and intimate gigs locally to get my head back in the space it needs to be to hopefully tackle some larger shows next year.
I am looking at options with regard to work here in New Zealand , Australia, the UK, and the US, but my main focuss currently is on expanding my online audience and reaching as many people as possible. With travel and communications these days - "It's a small world and commuting is a very practical option"... when the time is right.
I have always had an interest in TV and Movie theme music so I was more than happy to sign to the Barry Coffing, Los Angeles based company, Music Supervisor. I currently have 35 original tunes with them.
Myspace is an amazing place to swap ideas, check the opposition out, make new friends from all over the place and I always welcome the emails I get. They are really cool - so keep 'em coming!
Finally, I have bought and listened to three quite inspiring and amazing albums this year. They are: Brian Ray's "mondomagneto", Hank B Marvin's "Guitar Man" and the famous Paul McCartney's "Memory Almost Full"... As much as I'd like you all to buy my albums - I have to recommend you check these three out as well 'cos there really cool!
