I was born in Birmingham, UK, a smallish city in England's West-Midlands section. I always had a strong childhood interest in music. My first exposure to music, was through my grandparents, who were very musical. Ma Da, who was not a musician, loved classical music, not to my taste at all! I always loved the Beatles, and ballads by great musicians like Del Shannon and Roy Orbison. Although to tell the truth, I always thought 'Love Me Do' was a completely horrible song. Once I got my first guitar, I practiced day and night.
