Singing since 4th grade, Nancy ran the whole spectrum of involvement that a public education allowed: Mixed chorus, select choruses, All County, All State & 3 years at NYSSMA scoring a 97 & 98 on levels 5 & 6 respectively...being lucky enough to finish school in Smithtown, NY before budget cuts denied students of a full music program for years.
Graduating in 1986 & marrying in 1988, although not publicly active while raising her family, she continued to sing over the last 20+ years. She is an advocate to keep all arts fully funded in public schools even during tough economic times & believes all the arts are just as important to a child’s well rounded development as the school’s football team. Now that her family is grown enough, she has decided to become much more involved in the local music scene and, at the same time, show her children by example that you can always follow your dreams!
From Etta James to Christina Aguilera, Nancy enjoys a very wide variety of music & prefers performing very strong female vocals, whether the strength is in the form of volume, attitude or emotion. Her range & power surprises first time listeners & turns them into fans. Initially diving into the blues arena as a founding member of Jukehouse & Night Train, she is an active member of the LI Blues Society and is currently enjoying settling in and giving her all to the versatility she found with The Sly Geralds Band.
As other artists will attest, no matter what their art form is...you don't feel complete unless you're active. If you care to know more details, you can see my blogs.
