Papa's Log - What's New? (05/06/07)
Demoed up a couple of new songs. One called 'Five' the other called 'Mothers, Where Are Your Daughters?' (had this around for awhile). ( Five MP3 )
Name: 'Papa' J. Lowe

Born: Leyland/Greater Manchester/Lancs - Via Sheffield and the 195 Mainline Bus
Type of music: 'newage popsurf wannabeinyourgang'
Status: writes stuff. sings stuff. not always in that order.
Religion: 'Maoism, Taoism, Budhism, Bagism, Shagism - It's All Rock n' Roll to me'
What Do I Need? Someone to sing my songs. Rework them, abuse them, trash them. That's about it. A cover.
Looking for: remixes, country singers, production teams, publishers, co-writes, rewrites, terribly good advice, the answer to all life's mysteries, an auto freshener that says `Capricorn', something with coconut on it
A life of trailer parks, caravan sites, festivals, communes and cider-making sees Papa J Lowe raise his hoody one last time and head for the snow-tipped hills of the Scottish Highlands, his wife and two daughters at his side, towed up in a camper-van with his entire life's belongings: a Freshman acoustic, a mic-stand, some records and a multi-track recorder. The man with a perma grin had inherited a house and an acre of land in the Scottish Highlands - previously owned by his grandfather (an Edinburgh educated academic, renowned Salmon expert and one-time friend of the famous flying-tiger himself, Lee Wulff). And after years spent travelling around Europe he settled down. He'd been to University, he'd been on the dole, he'd worked 15 hour nightshifts getting numbers from Directory Enquiries, he'd shared houses with hippies, dippies and dopies, been in folk bands and joke bands, garage and grunge bands - and along the way he'd written some songs.
