BAROC is the title of Melbourne 3-piece BLACKLEVEL EMBASSY's debut album. It is derived from the word 'baroque', a description of one of history's most brutal and dramatic periods of art-making and culture.Recorded in the depths of Chicago's harshest winter in 50 years, at world renowned Electrical Audio and SOMA studios, BAROC is a documentation of a band writing and recording music in an unapologetically fearless and uncompromising manner.Guitar, Bass and Drums are the basic tools upon which extremes of dense chords and strategic rhythms are layered. Vocals are stretched between moments of ferocity and vulnerability whilst in between exists a delicacy of captured sound that highlights the band's depth of playing and performance. Blacklevel Embassy employed the expertise of independent engineer and musician Bob Weston to capture the urgent reconfigured rock sound of 90's Chicago and D.C. bands.
