About Me

Welcome! Thanks for visiting my place here on myspace :-)! My current layout features R&B youngster Lloyd. Yeah, I said youngster! LOL As I have teens, I hear all kinds of stuff, some of which I really enjoy. Lloyd is one of them. His song 'Valentine' (playing) is lovely and inspired this layout. As always, when I'm done with a layout I usually give it away. If you are interested in this one, drop me a message...

You wanna know a lil about moi, eh? Hmm... what to say, what to say? First of all... my name is Lisa. You can call me Lis, but please do not call me 'anewlis'. That is not my name. It is my moniker and the name of my freelance design business. I am a married mother of three. Active Christian. Music lover; Web designer... blah blah blah... Anything else, you gotta ask! LOL
At the moment:

What I do... I am a web designer. My story is quite a testimony. If you want to know it, hit me up ~ I love to share it. Let's just say it's taken me years to get to where I am now and I am truly loving every single minute of it. I hope to have my portfolio up soon :-/ but in the meantime here are some of my favorite works:

ECARDS

Electronic cards are one of my areas of *specialty* during my 9-5. These are sent via email to folks to keep them in the loop of our concert and event happenings.

NEWSLETTERS

Newsletter, similar to ecards are sent to folks to give them more detailed information on their artists. Outside of my job, I also create newsletters for my favorite band Mint Condition.

WEBSITES

Most of my web work is done in a freelance capacity. Here are a few of my most recent projects (click the image to visit the actual website).

MYSPACE LAYOUTS

I've done a few myspace layouts (including the one I currently have) and several for friends.

BANNERS I'll post up some banners soon. Wanna be friends?! READ THIS before you try to add me as a friend. I don't accept friend requests from bands. Which is sad because I have found some awesome music here that I ordinarily would not have know of. But because many are abusing myspace and trying to increase their friends list, I've disabled it. Send me a message if you feel, after seeing my favorites over there, that I'd like your music, and I'll check you out. I also do not accept requests from those I sense are trying to increase their friends list numbers, are involved in (and trying to suck me in) to pyramid and get rich quick schemes. And most of all, if you are a playa, tryna catch ~ kick rocks... Mo me? If you want to know more, or check me out on my thousands of other personal pages, there is where you can find me: » l-volution » sparkpeople » yahoo360 » twitter » stumbleupon

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

My Podcast: Hi5 featuring Jill Scott

HEY NOW! Thanks for visiting my lil piece of myspace. I've been a member since like the beginning of time. And believe it or not, STILL don't frequent it much. It's a phase. Much like 'BlackPlanet' was in the early days. (laughin'). I'm here, for the most part to simply have an additional outlet to display my design efforts. I almost never read bulleting. I am selective with whom I *approve* to my friends (no get rich quick, help you grow your business shenanigans, etc.). but I must say I have met some truly awesome peeps and found some unbelievable music! It's also proven to be a great way to keep up with my favorite artists!

So... You wanna know a lil about moi, eh? Hmm... what to say, what to say? First of all... my name is Lisa. You can call me Lis, but please do not call me 'anewlis'. That is not my name. It is my moniker.

I am a married (17 years) mother of three (18, 17 and 12). Active Christian (Member of Reseda Blvd. Church of Christ). Music lover (Especially R&B, Jazz, Alternative); Web designer (specializing in ecards and banners). I enjoy reading, especially fiction books by my boy Eric Jerome Dickey. I am a major net and gadget junkie. My husband is so disapproving, though he's a tech head! LOL I've also recently begun to get into writing and crafting. If I could find the time to do either, maybe I could complete something. Maybe I have too many interests?!

Like I said... I am a designer. Below are some of my favorite works. I also welcome you to check out my portfolio website to learn more about that.

I absolutely love Sanaa Lathan, and this is my favorite movie of hers.

I can usually figure out a movie within the first 15 minutes. This one totally thew me for a loop!

Still a favorite, although when I watched it for the first time recently after several years, I found it to be a tad unbelievable.

I was bawling like a baby at the end of this one, and a few men in the theatre were doing the same! LOL

This will always be a favorite and I can pretty much recite the entire movie!

Television:

TV Shows

I want Justin (the Mom) to be my BFF!

If you can't beat them, join them. Since everyone said I look like Dr. Baily, I thought I may as well watch the show! (LOve it!)

The season ended already, but this show is soooo good it should be on regular network!

I am so addicted to court shows and Judge Joe Brown is my favorite (I got a lil crush on him too! LOL)

I know... I know... I'm addicted to trying to figure out who will win. This is the first season I was wrong :-( Viva la cha cha diva!

Reads

One summer after first being introduced to this author, I read all EJD books available (about 6 at the time)! No matter what he writes, I'ma read it!

This book is stunning, chilling and wonderfully written.

The movie does not even TOUCH all the details in the book (though still very good).

Though I do not subscribe to the premise, the book was excellent and the movie did it justice!

A must read... again and again...
