::: THE CAUSE
Currently there are but a few outlets for African Americans to receive the praise and recognition they (we) so richly deserve. All throughout history we’ve made amazing contributions to this crazy world we live in. Even today, there is much to be proud of. Unfortunately, the media outlets are filled with many vehicles to spread the word when it’s based on dirt, gossip, tragedy, foolishness, etc. But where do you go to get the good stuff? To learn more about our history. Where can I learn of the accomplishments of our people TODAY even? If you are looking for anything more than what is going on in the entertainment industry, this can be extremely hard. Not to knock the strides being made by us in that industry - but we offer so much more.
::: THE MISSION
Urban Profiles (UP! for short) whose focus is solely on profiling positive African Americans making strides in and on behalf of the African American community. Our desire is to keep it simple, and provide simply a brief intro, seveval bullet points of things we should know about them and link(s) to other sources of information on them.
We hope to bring you information on those in diverse professions such as: Medical, Small Business, Technology, Education, Politics, etc.
We look forward to sharing and showing as well as learning and growing. And are pleased to have you here with us!
