I'm a Lover of Music...from rock to hip hop and from soul to jazz

About Me

Dedication to My Mom.... For bringing me into this world and introducing me to my first love, music. My one and only hero is my late mother, Karen. She has taught me so many life lessons that I carry with me for the rest of my life. When I hear music from the past (funk music to be exact) it brings back so many wonderful memories of me, mom and the rest of the family playing the stereo and spinning those records while attempting (and failing at) singing along in harmony! Miss Ya Mom!!
My real name is Chante....I was born and bred in Brooklyn, NY (Flatbush, baby!!). The maternal-side of my family is originally from islands of the Bahamas (Big Up to my Bahamian sistas and brothers!) and also from the south (Georgia, in particular). I've been asked this before...WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE ALIAS NAME? Well the name 'Violet' was taken (I'm in love with the color purple...SERIOUSLY...If I could've renamed myself it would've been 'Violet') so I had to finesse it bit and added 'SYN' (pronounced as 'Sin') and viola....'VIOLETSYN' was born ;-)
I'm an extreme workaholic and perfectionist.... I guess that's the Virgo in me. By day, I'm a master at performing mathematical wizardry (nah! I just add/subtract numbers all freakin' day...sexy isnt it?!). Well even though my profession is not a glamorous one, I love what I do and try my damnest to do it well. I also provide consultant services--check out my official site @ http://chante-ramsey.tripod.com/ for details.
As you can tell, I am a serious music head/supporter/listener.... I'm always seeking good music, so if you are an artist, holla @ me (although, I do not discriminate when it comes to styles of music however I do not listen/like music that disrespects anyone based on gender/ethnicity/occupation/etc....hate music in Violetsyn's 'Space is not allowed or tolerated!. Please check out my photo albums for artists that I've featured in the past (see the slideshow below) and artists that I have had the pleasure of seeing live thus far.

On my spare time.... I love relaxing to some good music (old and new, jazz, R&B, etc.), get a good work out at the gym (check out my journey to a better health on my blog site ), hanging out with my boyfriend (if anyone has ever found themselves in Philly yrs back and saw a grown ass black couple actin' a fool...that probably was us..**sigh**...the memories), chat online/Yahoo! Instant Messenger (my online name is ccr75), chill at home with my family, write poetry, update my Mint Condition website ( Mint Joint ), check out a flick, go to local special events and go to plays with friends.
Hanging with Sista Friends...and Causing Some Serious Chaos :-D
I am also a cat lover! I have two black/white domestic cats, Blade & Bandit, whom I miss dearly (my b/f has sole custody, for now..hehe). They are my kids--I love them...how we adopted them? The second kitty, Bandit, I just had to have and wouldn't take 'No!' for an answer. As far as our first kitty, Blade, well that's an interesting story...just ask me about her claws :-D
I am a Mint Condition Fan 4 Life! I've been a MC fan from their release Definition of a Band. Yes I was a late bloomer when it came to that..blame my naivety on my youth! :-) It has been a blast supporting these brothers whether it is buying their music, seeing them live or giving a hug for the work that they do on and off stage! I created a fan site back in 2004, an effort to show my love for the band, called Mint Joint.Com.
