About Me

Ronell "Nell" Nealy was born in New York in 1979. He has lived throughout the US since 1998 and is primarily a self-taught artist. Nell discovered his artistic talents at an early age. He was turned on to art at the age of eight when his uncle, who was an artist, gave him a box of art supplies. It was then that Nell discovered his love for art. Ronell was called Nell for short by family members and soon took the name permanently. Nell first experienced art through street graffiti and later attended high school at School of the Arts where he received formal training in photography and visual arts.Eccentric, raw, emotional, deep and creative& All words used to describe the artistic genius of Ronell "Nell" Nealy. For seven years Nell has prolifically introduced his special rendition of stylized art, capturing every viewer's attention and heart while demanding the acknowledgment and respect of art enthusiast. Particular in ideas, Nell is an artist that defies the social standards set forth by redefined art. Nell differentiates himself by creating vigorous statements depicting urban images, sensitive expressions of love, pain, poverty and majestic African American effigies. His art is manifested from a level of spirituality, selflessness and a God given talent that can not be easily explained or expressed.Throughout his career, Nell has been persistent in exploring new avenues of expression. Nell's natural range of versatility extends from graffiti art, mixed media, charcoal portraits, contour line art and more. Anyone that views his work is moved by his bold and powerful visual statements and his unusual style. This non manufactured style, coupled with urban, abstract and contemporary art themes, create stimulating displays of emotionally poetic art. Nell's many styles and techniques depict the African and African American culture with powerful imagery.
