This space is about "Lucy", a comic I created with the intent of publishing one day (duh). I'm an atheist, so I've always believed we create our own demons and saviors. However, they make for good story telling, so I posed this query: What if deities were created FOR us, as a sort of bureau of intrigue. Now Lucifer, or Lucy for short, is a creation of four ancient scientists, as a supreme step in stem cell manipulation, to be used as an enforcer of the laws that they, the Four Winds, deem necessary for the budding mankind. Lucy is one of thousands of creations, including the Minotaur, Chupacabra, Mothman, the Angel Breed, Vishnu, Jesus, and the grim reaper known as A. Lucy himself defected from their plan, and now deals out punishment as he sees justified.
I wanted to bring a little more of the old horror comic genre back, but with more action and humor. I want to have a fair share of drama, too, because if the story doesn't move the reader, I feel that I failed in bringing this whole thing to life. That's why another character, the human detective Frankie Lee, is so important. She's the love interest of Lucy, who is almost disturbingly obsessed with her. She, on the other hand, is following his trail of bodies and assaults, and sees him as a monster. This should play out in some good conflict of morale and the definition of justice.Anyway, I'll be posting pages as I finish them and giving updates to it's progress. Thanks for checking it out.
