REMEMBERING THE USS MAINE The Mast of the USS MAINE at ARLINGTONIN MEMORY OF ANNA NICOLE****************************************************** ************************************************************ **** To know me is to absolutely adore me.....Seriously: I am 42 years old and reside in the Florence-Myrtle Beach SC area and work for the US Postal Service and have for the past 17 years. I am married to a wonderful woman, Cherrie, who is my life and my world. I absolutely adore her. We have between us 3 awesome children. In fact, I logged into and joined My Space to keep track of their activities. So far so good!!! They seem to be doing just the right thing on here. Indeed, we are very proud of our kids.******************************************************* ************************************************************ **My hometown is Spartanburg SC. My family has lived in Spartanburg since the 1780s. We are an old family. We originally came into the "Colonies" in 1635 in Gloucester County Va on the HMS Globe. My family can trace itself back to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 and beyond. In fact, one of my ancestors (Sir Walter Tyrell) evidently accidently killed King William II Rufus while hunting in August 1100. Oops, that was a career ending accident I am sure!!! And not just for the King. The Tyrell Family eventually came into North America and settled in Spottsylvania Co. Va. in the 1640s. There is more to this tale and I will write a blog about it. ************************************************************ *********************************************************Thi ngs I have learned on My Space: Gangsta and Pimp are good words. I thought they were criminal activities. To "pimp" something is desirable and good. I had no idea there even was an English word "gangsta." We have become a least common denominator society. Forgive me, but I refuse to pretend to be ignorant. I hope that did not sound too arrogant. Isn't a pimp a criminal? Don't they typically treat women very badly? I respect women, I would never pimp them or anything else for that matter. Why give the "least" among us good "PR."******************************************************* ************************************************************ **I will write more about me later. But remember this.....I am a man, a living legend, a way of life!!!! Wooohooooo :)********************************************************** ***********************************************************S ome of my Maxims of Life:1. Life is not fair. Get used to it. You, and only you, are responsible for your own life. And almost always you get out of life exactly what you put into it.2. The world doesnt care about your self esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.3. You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You wont be a vice president with a company cell phone until you earn both. And you wont earn either with a high school diploma. Over a lifetime, college graduates make double what high school graduates make. Unless you have a college degree or advanced training, count on struggling financially as an adult. There are very few people without a high school diploma purchasing a new home or starting a business.4. If you think your teachers are tough, wait until you get a boss.5. Flipping burgers in not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for hard jobs and manual labor opportunity.6. If you mess up, its not your parents fault. And its not someone elses fault. Dont blame or whine about your mistakes, learn from them. Your life is the result of your choices, not your circumstances.7. Before you were born, your parents were not as boring as they are now. They got that way by going to work every day, paying your bills, taking care of you when you were sick, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about whats cool. So, before you make your fortune or save the rainforest, take a good look at yourself. Clean your room, go to school or to work ON TIME everyday and pay your own bills. Try loving your parents instead of treating them like a cash machine.8. Your school may have done away with winners or losers, but LIFE has not. Some colleges have abolished failing grades and they may give you as many chances as you need to pass. This doesnt bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.9. Life is not divided into semesters. You cannot get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time and your own nickel.10. Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop, pay the bills and go to jobs where they must PRODUCE RESULTS in order to stay employed.11. Be nice to nerds. Chances are youll end up working for one. And youd better learn how to operate a computer.12. If you can read this, thank a teacher.
