TRUE love.
I'll add pretty much anybody. I have no time to split hairs. But PLEASE understand I have no time to chit chat on here. While I'd love to partake in all the scintillating and intelligent banter you're eager to share with me, I'm gonna have to pass. I can barely keep up with my work-related e-mail.
Everything from speed metal to Mozart to Manilow. Very special place in my heart for 80's hair bands, though. Guns N Roses and Ratt are probably my two favorite bands.
It would take a few days to list all my favorites. My TOP favorite movies of all time are The Color Purple, Yentl, Braveheart, Schindler's List, Shawshank Redemption, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation, Amores Perros, Million Dollar Baby, Deerhunter, High Fidelity, Say Anything, Immortal Beloved, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and Grease (still). I love any good film of historical relevance, Roots, Apollo 13. Also love war movies (Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, etc); I love ALL the John Hughes films, (of course, I'm a child of the 80's,) lots of foreign films... and of course a wide variety of shameless, romantic chick-flicks such as Pretty Woman and Love Actually (my new favorite of all time).
I don't have too much time to watch TV but when I do, I prefer it to be informative, or funny.... (unless it involves animals, in which case it needn't be informative NOR funny, and I'll still be happily glued to it for hours.) I LOVE Animal Planet, and would gladly quit my job to stay home and watch it all day. Shows I'd also watch all day if I were lucky enough to be unemployed? Discovery, TLC, The National Geographic Channel and the History Channel. I'm also a junkie for documentaries on just about anything or anyone. E! True Hollywood Story and A&E Biography are probably the best. Finally, I will admit to watching an unhealthy amount of VH1, E! and Comedy Central. I love VH1's "Best Week Ever" (Joel Stein and my buddy Sherrod Small rule!!) I love "The Soup" on E! (Joel McHale is so awesome). And I can watch SNL reruns til I puke.Lastly, Real Time with Bill Maher is THE best f*cking show on television and right-wing conservative morons everywhere should watch and learn something....
FAR, FAR too many to name. I read almost exclusively non-fiction books, though.
My mom & dad, hands down. No where without them. After them, a variety of feminist icons and other brave, progressive women who were ahead of their time: Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan (RIP), Susan B. Anthony, Carrie Chapman Catt, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Eleanor Roosevelt, and the women of RAWA. I also LOVE Tina Fey and all the women of Saturday Night Live. Funniest bitches on the planet!!
