About Me

Hello! Now that I've been on MySpace for a while, I decided to make one or two small changes, including using my proper first name. Mind you, Keith isn't that different from Keefy, is it? After all, another, far more famous, Keith - Keith Richards (of the Rolling Stones) - is sometimes referred to in the media as "Keef". If you still want to call me Keefy, though, I don't mind - I've been called a lot worse in my time! (ha ha!)

A 10-minute montage of action from the early Sixties featuring the greatest footballer the world will ever see - Brazilian legend Pele. Apologies for the language used in the soundtrack - I didn't choose it, it came with the download! In any case, the clip is best viewed with the sound turned down or speakers off - the pictures speak for themselves.------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- MOTORSPORT - British Touring Car Championship Action from the 1994 British Championship, round 12 race at Silverstone.------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------- THIS WEEK IN BASEBALL

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------- "INSIDE OUT" feature on RADIO CAROLINE (2005) In the spring of 2005, former Radio Caroline DJ Keith Skues (now working for the BBC) discovered a long-forgotten "home movie" reel that he shot in the 1960s, when he was working on the famous "pirate" station. The footage was incorporated into a feature for the BBC's "Inside Out" programme broadcast in the summer of 2005, and includes new footage shot when Skues and fellow ex-Caroline DJ Tony Blackburn visited the current Radio Caroline ship "Ross Revenge", moored at Tilbury, Essex. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------- Here is a selection of favourite music videos, concert and TV show clips. VICTORIA SILVSTEDT - "Rock Steady Love"

I'm not sure how long ago this record by Swedish-born Playboy model-turned-actress Victoria was made,or who the "rapper" is, but this little-known and rarely-seen video is actually quite good.... well, I thought so. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------- WILKO JOHNSON - "All Through The City" (Live) Ex-Doctor Feelgood guitarist/singer Wilko filmed "in concert" during a Japanese tour in the late 1980s, accompanied by Norman Watt-Roy (bass) and Salvatore Raimundo (drums). The track is one of Wilko's own compositions, originally recorded by the Feelgoods back in the 1970s.------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------- THE BEACH BOYS on "Ready Steady Go!", November 1964. Introduced and interviewed by Keith Fordyce, this was the Beach Boys' first-ever appearance on British television. Here we see the original Beach Boys line-up of Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine.---------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- THE SMALL FACES - "All Or Nothing" The Small Faces: Steve Marriott (Guitar and lead vocals), Ronnie Lane (Bass guitar and vocals), Ian McLagan (Keyboards) and Kenney Jones (Drums); had a UK Number 1 hit with this song in the late summer of 1966. They originally came from East London - Manor Park, to be precise - so as far as I'm concerned, they're true "local heroes". Sadly, Marriott died in a fire in 1991 and Lane died in 1998 after a long illness.---------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- THE BEATLES - "Twist And Shout" From the 1963 Royal Variety Performance. Note a famous comment from John Lennon at the start of the clip.

My Interests

Collecting "pirate radio" memorabilia (recordings, books, posters, etc.). Most sports as spectator or TV viewer, principally football - I'm a West Ham United supporter, but please don't hold that against me! - most forms of Motor Sport, American sports (mainly baseball and football - Rugby (both League and Union) and Cricket.

I'd like to meet:

All of my Myspace friends; anyone who played for West Ham United since the 1960s (I would have particularly liked to have met the great Bobby Moore, but sadly he died in 1993!); Ronan O'Rahilly (founder of "pirate" station Radio Caroline). Most types, depending on my mood at the time. But especially 50s rock 'n' roll, 60s and 70s rock and pop.

Movies:

Not overly keen on movies.

Television:

Most sports and music programmes; also Doctor Who, Torchwood, Xena: Warrior Princess. Also interested in vintage radio comedies (Goons, Tony Hancock, Navy Lark, etc.)

Books:

Sports, Music, TV and Radio-related books and magazines.

Heroes:

Almost anyone who's played for West Ham since about 1963; the Beach Boys (my all-time favourite band); Pan's People (the legendary Top Of The Pops dancers of the 1970s - they helped make my teenage years more bearable).
