An irresistible mish-mash of funky, tribal house mixed with electro, rock and party breaks has meant Kris Bones fills dancefloors everywhere from Tokyo, London, New York, in clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Pacha and Womb. As well as playing at the UKs biggest dance festivals and outdoor events, hes also a key player on both the international fashion and club circuits. Kris career began almost 20 year ago. Growing up in brixton south London he was surrounded by a culture clash of sounds from an early age, everything from Motown to reggae to electro to hip hop thrown into the melting pot. Leaving Tulse hill school to become a DJ, in the late 80,s ,he found favour on the capitals burgeoning pirate radio network (Horizon and Energy FM) and underground party scene. It wasnt long before he was playing at the infamous Soul II Soul /boiler house parties at the Fridge in Brixton, where he made a name for himself as a warehouse grooves DJ.Fast forward six months and Kris started throwing hip-hop beats and reggae basslines over Chicago house. Quoted by The Prodigy as being one of the foremost innovators of the new jungle movement, in the early 90,s Kris went on to produce and remix tracks for artists such as the Prodigy ,Tricky, cappadonna (wu tang clang) Soul II Soul, New Power Generation, Eeka Mouse, Teddy Riley, Rose windross,Ray Keith and the Last poets. Also making three landmark albums as Genaside II,with remixes by the likes of armand van helden, rza ,mathmatic, (wu tang clan) dj zinc, droppin science to name a few......As his production alias grew, so too did his DJ career; he toured the world with The Prodigy in the late-Nineties and performed in front of a quarter of a million people in Moscows Red Square. After signing to Trickys pioneering Durban Poison label, Kris found himself DJing Stateside more and more. Together the pair toured the US, playing venues such as the notorious Viper Rooms, Las Palmas, and New Yorks Limelight club. Later he joined forces with dance heavyweights Kemical Equation to stage massive warehouse parties in New York and Conneticut along side the likes of Todd Terry and Josh Wink.As the Nineties made way for the Noughties and with the dance scene taking off big-time across the pond, he found himself moving up the ladders of both the club scene and the fashion scene. After playing with David Visan of Buddha Bar at the launch of DKNY Jeans in Milan he was snapped up by Donna Karan to host their fashion parties. Kris now musically directs catwalk shows and consults in London, New York Paris and Milan, for DKNY, Donna Karan,Barneys of new york,selfridges, Vivienne Westwood, INSTYLE and VANITY FAIR Magazine,s to name but a few. Kris Bones is a rare thing; a DJ and producer who refuses to accept the status quo. By bringing together new sounds, new styles and old favourites he ensures one thing;if the dancefloor is empty when he starts but you can be damn sure itll be rammed full when he leaves.
