I miss Barenboim's presence in Chicago.* with very generous support from Myriam Scherchen and Tahra Records, Pink and Blue films has used much of Hermann Scherchen's recorded performances of Beethoven and Mahler in our upcoming film, "W" The Movie. The always provocative L.A. band, DJ Monkey has also generously collaborated with Pink and Blue Films for "W" the Movie and given us three songs, including "Third World War".other composers whose work has been used in in "W" The Movie:Buzz Kimball, Walter Ciancisusi, Vincent Bergeron, and Harold Schellinx

Well, I pretty much quit watching the year they took 'Pee Wee's Playhouse' and Bakshi's 'the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse' off the air.
Many of todays avant garde poets, incl Cheryl Towsend, John M Bennett,Michael Basinski,Jim Leftwich, J.S. Murnet,Sheila E. Murphy, Charles Bernstein, Jessica Freeman, Michael Estabrook, Bill Paulauskas, Robert W. Howington, and Dodie Bellamy. A bit fanatical over Artaud and the late Philip Lamantia. Hubert Selby, Eugene Ionesco,Jean Genet, Joseph Suglia, J. G. Ballard, Kevin L. Donihe, Albert Camus, Ivan Arguelles, Harold Pinter, John Osborne, Dorothy Parker. Of course, Joyce, Kafka, Baudelaire, Marquis de Sade and Poe are still essential. I cannot fathom life without the beauty of James Agee,Thomas Merton and Flannery O' Connor and I try to read everything Keith Banner writes. Recently read Lynn Rene Bayley's " Spinning the record" on cd rom (at amazon). Very good insight into the current state of music and highly recommend it.
Fr. Justin Belitz, who has been an enormous influence on me, Greg "Utrillos" Brown, and Steve Mannheimer, my painting professor in art college who may have scared the hell out of every 19 year old student (myself included), but he had a real enthusiasm and inspired me to a life of obsessive painting.
